Trader Joe's Bison Burgers...
TO DIE FOR!!!
I've purchased a number of items from the frozen food selection at Trader Joe's, and not all of them have been tasty.  Despite my success rate, due to either poor judgement on my part or TJ's, I keep trying.
So, the other night I was prowling the aisles at TJ's and of course I was SUPER HUNGRY, and there sat a box of frozen bison burgers - two to a pack.  I thought to myself, "Eh, I'll give these a whirl, they probably won't be good, but there are only two of them and I can always doctor them up with some seasoning."
All I can say is "WOW!"  They were delicious, juicy, tender ---I could go on and on.  Bottom line --- you MUST try them.  I could have been at Ted's Montana Grill, if I wasn't looking at a bunch of dishes that needed to be washed.  Yes, they were that GOOD!  I'll be sure to post a picture when I buy a couple of boxes from TJ's, after my crossfit workout.

Tick Tock, Tick Tock

Have you ever thought about the amount of energy you expend waiting?  Does it feel as though you spend your entire life waiting on something or someone?  The "waiting" is transferred from your parents to you....
Your parents can't wait until you're born --- they can't wait until you start talking.  Then you start talking and they can't wait until you shut up.  Then it evolves in them waiting for you to move out of the house and finish college so they can stop bailing you out financially.  Throughout all of this, you yourself can't wait till you grow up, start driving, go off to college and eventually live your own life and be able to leave a pile of clothes wherever..as long as you want.  Sound familiar?  LOL!
I must clarify that my parents were PHENOMENAL!  They never treated us (my sister and I) as I have just described above and I would have stayed at home forever if I didn't have this mean streak of independence running through every pore, vein, and piece of candy I've eaten since childhood.

You wait for your first job, wait to meet the man or woman of your dreams...wait for the debt to be paid off, wait to purchase your first home, wait to get off work, wait for the weekend, wait for waiting.  Get the picture?  I'm exhausted just writing about "waiting."  :)

...but Life shouldn't be about waiting, should it?  It should be about looking forward to every experience, encounter, disappointment, heartache, and triumph we live through, just waiting to cross our path.
I welcome and embrace the "waiting."

Verified Angel

My co-workers and I were discussing the upcoming Holidays and all the shopping and errands we had left to do, and one of them mentioned how she had just mailed a care package to a soldier they had adopted.  Apparently it's a nonprofit organization called "Soldiers' Angels" and I was immediately intrigued about how I could become involved.
A few minutes later, she emailed me the link and I clicked away like the sponge that I am.
Soldiers' Angels is strictly voluntary and the intent is to provide aid and comfort to our wounded warriors and Armed Forces serving overseas.
There are a number of ways you can volunteer, but I chose to commit to a small donation, writing letters once a week and sending a monthly care package.  Who knows, maybe my time and effort will put a smile on a courageous soldiers' face who is putting their life on the line for me, and this great country we live in.  My hope is to provide a little bit of happiness since many of them have little, to no family to speak of.

Today, I adopted a soldier.  And I'm proud to be a part of Soldiers' Angels.

A verified Angel?
I most certainly am and I have no idea what took me so long.
